This is a two-part course exploring ASHA’s framework of Holistic Education with the view to inspire trainers and youth workers to develop further their educational methods. Based on a threefold understanding of the human being, ASHA’s framework addresses the learner from the perspective of head, heart and hands (or the three faculties of thinking, feeling and willing). It combines this with a regard for the self, the other and the environment as three areas of human activity.

The first course will place an emphasis on the areas of self and other, including tools of self-development, the four temperaments, the three energies of Eastern philosophy, empathy-work, social awareness and the sphere of relationships. The second course will expand this work into a consideration of the environment, including biodynamic agriculture, connecting to the land and harnessing the healing power of Nature. The intention is to equip participants with the tools and concepts needed to take their own work and approach to life to a deeper and more powerful level, fostering transformation in the people they work with, and enhancing their ability to impact positively their communities, families and other relationships.
