Mental Health is crucial for youth well-being and it is fundamental in various aspects of life, whether it be in personal relationships, professional settings, or broader social challenges.
Supporting Minds is an international Training Course designed for youth workers who wish to strengthen their competences in promoting mental health and wellbeing in youth work contexts.
The course focuses on understanding common mental health challenges, preventing burnout, stress and developing sustainable practices of self-care as a professional responsibility.
Through non-formal education methods, participants will reflect on healthy boundaries in helping relationships and explore individual and organisational strategies to support young people while maintaining their own wellbeing.
"Supporting Minds" is a training course co-founded by the Erasmus plus program within the strategic plan developed for Erasmus plus accreditation in the youth field by Cruz Vermelha- Delegação de Saguedo.
The Training Course aims to strengthen youth workers’ capacity to promote mental health and wellbeing in youth work settings, while ensuring sustainable and healthy
professional practice. It focuses on recognising emotional demands in youth work and addressing challenges such as burnout and stress.
Through non-formal education methods, participants will explore self-care as a professional responsibility, develop healthy boundaries in helping relationships and reflect on both individual and organisational strategies that support long-term wellbeing.
The course also reinforces supportive communication, empathy and reflective practice, contributing to safer and more resilient youth work environments and the integration of mental health awareness into everyday youth work.
