ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ

“Self-Employed” – quite often, we see this kind of job description on social networks profiles.
“Freelancer”. These peoples‘ numbers, working from home (or anywhere else in the world), are growing not only
in the west, but are also spreading rapidly in Europe. However, questions about Freelancers and their activities still
occur to even highly informed youth. Therefore, they ask “why is it worthwhile to be the boss for myself? How
does it work? Where to start?”. For these and other questions we will find the answers during a Youth Exchange
Project “Freelance Culture for Today’s Youth” (“FREElance Culture”).

This Youth Exchange will take place for 6 days in a cozy town – Trakai, Lithuania. The project will involve a
group of 43 young people and youth workers from Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Romania, and Lithuania.

Modern labor market is changing rapidly, therefore our goal is to encourage young people to adapt and
pay more attention to individual work - thus opening doors to new labor market expanse. Project "Freelance
Culture for Today’s Youth" will motivate the youth to create jobs for themselves. During the Project, participants,
with the help of qualified mentors, will develop methods for: creating a freelance worker’s business plan and
marketing strategy; increasing self-motivation; keeping positive attitude towards one’s career. We will also discuss
and search for ways to cope with major emerging issues faced by Freelancers: loss of social skills, difficulties in
communicating in a wider societal context, dwindling of self-confidence, as well as physical fitness and well-being.

We will use various work methods in order to establish the best conditions for learning during this Youth
Exchange Project: introduction, cognition, explanation of experience, motivation, stimulation, active learning,
assessment (and self-assessment), reflection, discussion, creative solution, group reports, group work, and other
practical and theoretical methods.
