ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ
During the 9-day-long youth exchange, we will gather 42 participants from 6 countries to talk about how to approach personal and international conflicts based on Thomas Killmann’s conflict resolution model, historical events and former conflicts between the countries participating in the project, as well as coming out against the war and antiwar movements in history, the link between solidarity and peace, and youth inclusion in peacebuilding strategies in partner countries. Special focus will be directed to follow-up activities and how we can expand the circle of people who will be enhanced with peacebuilding knowledge and skills.
The main aim of the follow-up activities in this project is to promote intergenerational exchange rather than work with youth in isolation. Look for more inclusive approaches for young people to express themselves as well as take part in initiatives aimed at increasing awareness among parents and the elderly. With the assistance of team leaders and our organization, six local activities will be held in each of the six project countries following the youth exchange, with the goal of giving young people a chance to share the positive effects of their peace actions, interact with one another and with more senior members of society, as well as identify common issues they face and work together to solve them in their local communities. Participants will come up with statement ideas that are the most suitable for them and their local community. On the seventh day of the project, participants will receive all the methodological information related to the Oxford debate, and we will organize a simulation debate for them to practice what they learned before they hold their own activities.
