ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ

«Guess Who’s coming to dinner» is the title of the famous movie that is a symbol for the cultural obstacles overcoming.
This project aim to involve 30 (+ 6 group leaders) young participants from 6 countries to promote the solidarity, social inclusion and intercultural learning through the kitchen tool, starting from the food to reflect on cultural diversity, theyr own identity and european citizenship! The participants from Portugal, Spain, Greece, Romania, Italy and Belgium will share two big houses (one in front of the other) located in the mountains of Belluno (near Feltre) and they’ll live together for 10 days (03.10-13.10/2014), they’ll exchange their own traditional receipts and food traditions, discuss and work on sustainabiltity, cultural identity, learning from the kitchen, learning to learn, food as sociability and peer education at the table; they also could create and realize their own menu, organizing a big open-dinner for the citizenship and to create a booklet with receipt, story and the path done. Through the two different methodolgies they’ll have the possibility to learn on two different level: non-formal learning through the role-play, work-groups, discussion, sharing choice and decisions and other activities sessions, and the informal one through kitchen laboratory (learning by doing), living together, knowing each-other, free time activities. We think that the kitchen topics could be a common space in which to share experiences, sensations and traditions, and why not, a good skill to find a job in the future, or at least to test if this could be a possible professional future path.
At the end of the youth exchange the participants will prepare a dinner for the local people (young, associations and institutions which cooperate with us) who will enjoy about this experience, the dinner menu will be promoted via web and the participants «give this menu as a present» together with the recipe and story booklet that they’ve created to the Belluno city.
