ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ
“In the wisdom of the past lies the hope of the future” - Confucius
This course aims to explore humanity’s ancient wisdom traditions and how these can help us in our lives
today. Its goal is to equip participants with knowledge and tools, with which they can more effectively address
the problems of our modern world. In this course entitled Sacred Society, we will focus on supporting healthy
connections between people, something which modern life is quickly eroding. We will look at how we can
understand and reverse this trend by remembering the wisdom, rituals and practices of earlier cultures.
During the course participants will:
→ be introduced to the practice of the tribal sharing circles
→ practice empathic listening and non-violent communication
→ explore modern attempts to create greater social cohesion eg. The three-fold social order, proposed by
Rudolf Steiner; community building initiatives, such as the Camphill Communities.
→ reflect on our relationships to others and the larger community and how these can be improved develop
initiatives for supporting social transformation
The course will use non-formal educational methods, including theatre-based games, group work, artistic
presentations, team-building exercises. There will also be contributions from visiting professionals in the field
of social development.
