ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ
In this time of environmental and social turbulence, the necessity for human beings to find conscious and
kind ways of working with Nature is a timely and positive step towards a healthy future. Ancient wisdom
traditions all affirm the living sacredness of the earth. We will explore this concept within ancient traditions,
with reference to the famous testimony of Chief Seattle “Every part of the earth is sacred to my people”. We
will learn, through simple meditative exercises of walking, sitting and observing, to become receptive to the
subtle energies that resonate within and around us, leading eventually to possibilities of a deeper experience
and communication with Nature.
We will also introduce participants to the principles of biodynamics – a modern rediscovery of ancient
agriculture practices - as well as giving them the opportunity to practice these principles on our four-acre
biodynamic garden. The goal of the course will be to creatively research the vision and values of sacred
ecology with the goal of making them more practically alive in our times.
During the course participants will:
- practise observation and simple meditative exercises to become more receptive to Nature
- engage with Nature through the arts
- be introduced to biodynamic agriculture, as developed by Rudolf Steiner
- have hands-on experience of biodynamic gardening
- visit a community-supported-agriculture centre (CSA)
The course will use non-formal educational methods, including team-building exercises, groupwork and
creative tools. There will also be contributions from visiting professionals in the field of ecology.
