ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ
We have noticed lately that Europe is facing a massive increase of intolerance and hatred, which mainly affects young people. The media commonly talk about attacks on innocent people, often because of their race, nation, nationality, color, ethnic group, or religion. This is compounded by the current state of affairs in the world, the refugees' migration, the geopolitical and political situation itself in the EU and the world. Project Ambassadors of Tolerance was created in response to this situation in Europe. We decided to stand against this trend holding onto education and understanding.
Project will take place in Poronin, Poland from 20th to 26th of November (plus 2 travel days). Together 46 youngsters from Slovenia, Poland, Greece, Croatia and Slovakia will be learning by non-formal methods and experience sharing about tolerance, respect and human rights. We chose this combination, because we believe, that human rights are outcome of tolerance and respect between people. After project, participants will be able not only to define and describe those terms, but also use them in practice. Our goals are not only to give knowledge, but also to positively change values of participants. We would like to show participants positives of tolerance, respect for human rights and respect for other human beings.
We expect participants to expand their knowledge related to project issues. Project will enable participants to use it in practice and to recognize when and under what circumstances violation of human rights occurs. Participants will be also able to define the sources of intolerance and hate speech, which, in combination with the acquired knowledge and attitudes, will help them to propose solutions to this issue.
